FALLING HOME, as the Bus to Lumberton 2019 installation at the Cucalorus Festival, was an open experiment in group storytelling. Through multiple platforms, online and alive, we invited audiences on a sensory exploration through memory association. By tapping into nostalgia as a device to live
in the now, we encouraged audiences to reevaluate what a life worth living truly means. This live cinema experience was directed by Jen West and starred Kristin Slaysman and Karl Jacob. Being With Elephants - A new short doc by James Martin, with producing partner and DP Bud Simpson of Great Wild & Co.
In two weeks James Martin will embark on a month-long journey to Kenya as an integral part of Stories Found. The goal of the program is to teach emerging Nairobi filmmakers how to find and share compelling stories from their own communities. Their hands-on approach to film training and production is designed to remove barriers, answer questions, and instill confidence.
